Veggie Cooking Class

Posted on February 8, 2010. Filed under: Cooking Class |

I haven’t done a cooking class in months. Well, up until this last week, I hadn’t really done anything in months. Oh wait, yes, I did do something, I sat on my butt. But I had good reason because I had lots of medical stuff going on. But now, I’m better and ready to get the show back on the road (I hate that saying, so why did I just use it? I am not even deleting it.Oh man.I must be back to normal because my internal dialogue is quite long and now I am typing it here). Julia, back to Earth. Oh.Okay.Im back.

Occasionally I teach cooking classes at my house. I choose a theme or some sort of fun menu and teach friends, church folk, co-workers and friend’s of friends how to cook what is on the menu. I can’t say I legitimately teach them how to cook because that would take a lot more then a 3 hour time slot on a Tuesday night. Not because of their skill level, but because come on, cooking/baking takes LOTS of time to learn.

This particular menu came about because the girls in my bible study said they wanted me to teach a cooking class that focused on fruits and vegetables. Things that were easy enough to do on a weeknight and mild enough so that their picky husbands would try it (our bible study has THE pickiest eaters EVER). Oh, and also reasonably priced. So I had some criteria I had to meet and I think I achieved success.

Appetizers
Zucchini Roll Ups
Grape Crostini

Dinner
Spinach Artichokes Crepes
Roasted Pear and Spinach Salad

Dessert
Chocolate Mini Bundt Cakes
