Hot Dog Cake

4th of July is perfect for grilling some hot dogs and consuming large amounts of crappy food. And this cake combines both of those things.

1 box white cake mix
3 eggs
1 1/4 cup water
1/3 cup oil
2 Twinkies
1 container vanilla frosting
Food coloring: red, yellow and brown

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Grease a 9 inch loaf pan. Mix the cake mix, water, eggs and oil and pour into the loaf pan. Bake for 50 minutes. or until golden Brown and knife inserted comes out clean.

Allow to cool for 15 minutes in the pan. Then remove from the pan and cool completely on a wire rack.

Using the Twinkies as a measuring tool, cut out the center of the loaf cake in the same measurements as the Twinkies. .

Mix the brown food coloring with about 1/4 cup frosting.
Mix the red and yellow food coloring with about 1 tbsp of frosting each.

Cut about 1/4-1/2 inch off the sides of the loaf cake.

Spread 2 tbsp frosting in the cut out part of the loaf cake. Insert the Twinkies on top of the frosting. Frost the Twinkies with the brown frosting.
Drizzle the red and yellow frosting over the ‘hot dog.’

Cut the left over loaf cake into strips and stack them next to the cake. Drizzle them with red frosting. These are ‘french fries.’
