Chocolate Heath Bar Oreo Trifle

Posted on April 15, 2009. Filed under: Chocolate, Desserts |

This is one of the more common versions of a chocolate trifle. Of course I add my own flair though. I made it for Easter, and it was a huge success.

1 box dark chocolate cake mix (prepared in a 9×13 inch pan according to box instructions)
1 small box instant chocolate pudding (prepared)
1 large tub cool whip
20 Oreo cookies, crushed
1 bag heath baking bits

Using a trifle dish, layer the trifle as follows, repeat the layers 3 times:
1/3 of the cake, cut into 1 or 2 inch cubes
1/3 of the pudding
1/3 of the cool whip
1/3 of the heath bits
1/3 of the crushed Oreo’s

You can prepare it a day ahead of time, or the day of. Just keep it refrigerated until you are ready to serve it.

Serve it in glass dessert dishes or martini glasses.
