Beer Steak

Jon and I don’t like beer, so we never have it in the house. But last weekend some guys came over for a card game and brought beer. And we have had 4 bottles leftover in the fridge. So slowly, we are using them in cooking. Jon is eating the leftovers this morning with his eggs and toast. He absolutely loved the steak. Yet, he hates mustard, Worcester, and onions. Weird how it all comes together for a great tasting meal!

1-2 lbs sirloin steak, fat trimmed, cut into individual steaks
1 bottle beer (We used Sierra Nevada, but any kind will work)
1 tbsp dijon mustard
1 tsp Worcester sauce
1 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder

Combine all ingredients, except the steak in a medium-large glass bowl. Add the steak. Cover and let sit at room temperature for 30 min – 1 hour.

Grill on each side for 7-10 minutes, or until it achieves the temperature you like. Add extra marinade to the steaks as you are grilling them.
Plate it, and cover with tin for for 3-5 minutes, to let the juices absorb. Serve immediately after resting.

I served it with a butter lettuce salad, corn on the cob, and toasted baguette.
