Cheeseburgers

One night for a date, Jon and I made some fancy hamburgers. We customized them to each of our likings, and they turned out unbelievable!

Makes 2 burgers
1/2 pound ground chuck
1/4 pound ground sirloin
3 tbsp seasoned dry bread crumbs
2 tbsp cup steak sauce (recommended: A-1)
2 tsp butter
1 extra-large egg
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 brioche hamburger buns
2 ounces Cheese: Blue Cheese, Cheddar Cheese, Swiss Cheese, Mozzarella Cheese
Romaine lettuce
sliced tomatoes
Sliced Avocado

Directions
Carefully mix the meats, bread crumbs, steak sauce, eggs, salt, and pepper with the tines of a fork, but do not mash them. Lightly form hamburger patties and press lightly into shape. Stuff a little of the cheese and a tsp of butter into the middle of each burger.

Prepare a charcoal or a stove-top grill.

Cook the hamburgers for 4 minutes on 1 side, then turn and cook 3 minutes on the other side for medium-rare. Remove to a plate and cover with aluminum foil. Allow the hamburgers to rest for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, grill the buns, cut side down, for 1minute, until toasted. Place a hamburger and leftover cheese on each bun, plus lettuce, avocado and tomato, if desired, and serve hot.
